A Message from Our Team

Finding a Cure Together 4 Sickle Cell Committee

Dear Potential Sponsor,

On behalf of Finding a Cure Together 4 Sickle Cell Committee, The Florence Neal Cooper Smith 5K Walk Committee, and our community partners, we want to thank you for considering sponsorship of the Florence Neal Cooper Smith 5K Walk for Sickle Cell.

The Florence Neal Cooper Smith 5K was established to honor the life and legacy of Florence Neal Cooper Smith, a passionate advocate dedicated to raising awareness and improving outcomes for individuals and families impacted by Sickle Cell Disease.  Her vision continues through the Florence Neal Cooper Smith Professorship at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), which supports research, treatment, education and advocacy efforts.

Each year the walk brings together families,

healthcare professionals, faith community, civic and community organizations, students and advocates to raise awareness and funds to support ongoing research, education, treatment, outreach and other initiatives.

This year we are proud to partner with Zenobia's Promise Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The Foundation is named in honor of Zenobia Henderson Gilpin, who served as the first president of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Upsilon Omega Chapter, from 1925 to 1927.  Zenobia's Promise Foundation will serve as the fiscal repository and financial manager for all sponsorship contributions.

Funds raised through sponsorships help ensure participants have a safe, welcoming and meaningful experience.

Your Sponsorship Supports:

Water and Hydration Stations

Healthy snacks and refreshments

Materials and Equipment to put on the Walk

Safety officers and traffic support

First aid and medical support teams

Event Logistics and family engagement activities

Support for research and treatment initiatives related to sickle cell disease

Your sponsorship directly supports a cause that impacts thousands of individuals and families throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and across the nation.

We invite you to join us in making a difference by becoming a sponsor and partner with us in this important effort.

Together we can work to support research to find more accessible cures, better treatments, and educate and raise awareness and bring hope to families living with sickle cell disease.

Sincerely,

Finding a Cure 4 Sickle Cell
